Nobody today is painting like Buck Paulson. At the age of 74, Paulson is producing the best work of his life. He's been a featured artist on PBS for the past 20 years...where he is known for his meticulous real life paintings. But it's the Pochade painting he's been quietly doing in recent years that is captivating and mesmerizing the art world.

Thick, bold brush strokes; passion filled canvas; rich colors; all descriptive of Pochades by Buck Paulson. Paulson's Pochades are riveting because they have such bold "SURFACE INTENSITY™". "Surface Intensity™" is a technique that was revealed and passed on to Buck Paulson some 40 years ago by his old Master Artist instructor, Claude Buck. "Surface Intensity™" is a technique utilizing thick brush and knife work that has been mastered by some of the world's most famous artists, including Monet and Van Gogh.
Buck Paulson has a very impressive geneology relative to art. He was taught at the feet of the Master Artist, Claude Buck. Claude Buck was taught by the famous artist Emil Carlsen. Carlsen wrote to Claude Buck (in January, 1927), "Art is governed by feeling...if a man has something to say, it comes out of him, not out of science."
